Appropriate for:

  • Pregnant mothers and fathers in the care of a midwife or OB, planning to birth at home, birth center, or hospital
  • Moms and Dads looking to connect with others, tap into local resources, and enjoy a relaxing time focusing on their pregnancy and birth

Group prenatal care is well researched and has been shown to:

  • Significantly reduce the percentage of cesarean births (17.53% versus 26.52% in a hospital-based system)
  • Reduce the percentage of preterm births (4.15% versus 8.33%)
  • Increase satisfaction with this model of care

At your visit you can expect to spend about 90 minutes and receive private assessment, and group education and support. Topics include:

  • Your pregnancy by the month
  • Nutrition
  • Health promotion in pregnancy and early mothering
  • Common solutions to common challenges
  • Preparing for birth
  • Preparing to feed your baby

We provide (and will coordinate with your OB) all bloodwork, ultrasounds, and additional screens as needed.

If you are planning a hospital birth we will share all records from your visit with your OB.

You will have 60 minute private appointments scheduled for your first visit and at week 28, more often as needed.

Beyond the technical details, healthy delicious food is always served and we practice exercises for reducing stress and connecting with baby–that’s just hard to beat!

Groups are held on the 1st and 3rd weeks of each month:

Moms in weeks 5-20 First Mondays from 6-8pm or Third Tuesdays from 11am-1pm.
